The cost of braces you get mainly depends on several factors, such as your location, complexity of your malocclusion and other dental problems that need correction, patient’s age, the type of braces you get. Considering those factors dental braces cost may vary greatly in different parts of the country, for example:

  • Cost of traditional dental braces

Traditional dental braces are counted to be most effective ones. Usually, the treatment time is shorter by few months; and therefore, traditional dental braces are considered to be the most effective ones for severe cases.

Besides, traditional dental braces are the most affordable ones. Even though, they are not the most nicely looking of all types of braces. The cost for traditional dental braces may start anywhere from $3,000 for entire orthodontic treatment. Mainly there are several factors, which can reduce or increase this cost. One of these factors is your location. As a rule, smaller towns’ orthodontists charge less for their services, than city ones.

Of course, the complexity of your orthodontic problem may also impact the traditional dental braces cost. Since more severe cases may require use of additional orthodontic appliances or longer treatment time.

  • Cost of lingual braces

In the case with lingual braces, which are almost invisible, your beauty and good looks do require certain financial sacrifice, since lingual braces are more expensive than regular metal ones.

Unlike traditional braces, lingual braces are placed on the inner side of the teeth; which requires more precise work and more time for the doctor to make the adjustments. So, the price goes up, accordingly. If you want to go with lingual braces, you should expect to pay no less than $1,500 extra for such a beauty.

  • Invisalign cost

In case of Invisalign braces, there are several factors to be considered, such as the case complexity, time of treatment and patients’ age. And, most of them impact the price you are going to pay for your Invisalign. The average Invisalign cost would be around $5,000, but it can go as low as $3,500 for simple corrections. One thing you should know about Invisalign is that it typically cannot be applied to baby teeth and in some cases cannot be used for teenagers.

Of course, Invisalign braces look more naturally than traditional dental braces, but they also may take longer to correct some orthodontic problems. The longer your treatment course and the more doctor visits you have, the more you pay for Invisalign cost.

  • Designer braces cost

If you’d like not only to correct your malocclusion problems with braces, but to turn them into your decor element, designer braces may be a good option. The design elements may be applied by shaping brackets in different ways, like making them in hearts or stars shapes, etc. You may also want to get colored or sparking braces. Usually such designs would increase the braces cost by at least $500.

Of course, you may want to get something more sophisticated, like golden designer braces or even precious stone braces, for instance. In this case, the price would rise significantly and will depend on your financial abilities, the image and name of your designer and your fantasy limits.

  • Cost of color braces

As mentioned above, getting color braces can be at least $500 more expensive, than getting traditional ones. But, again, you can have them in about 10 different colors and make them in any possible shape you want. Such color braces would be more fun for kids to wear and would allow teens to make their appearance more expressive.
